Madden NFL 13 Review - GameSpot - Video Game Reviews & News Madden NFL 13 trots out the same basic experience one more time, creating an enjoyable game without any major improvements.

John Madden is back and, again, he's brought the entire NFL with him into your Nintendo 64 with Madden NFL 2001. The game includes the updated rosters you'd expect, but new this season is the addition of coaches on the sidelines, who often "encourage" the players and shout "helpful advice" out to the referees. Finer details for this version include wristbands, visors, facemasks, and turf tape--specific to what each player favors in the real NFL. Considering its humble beginnings on the Sega Genesis, the Madden series has come a long way (and even more yardage has been covered by the PlayStation2's inaugural scrimmage). Even with expectations high, Madden NFL 2001 for the Nintendo 64 is very, very good. This game looks better than the original NFL Quarterback Club--an early standard in football visuals--and plays like the previous year's version of Madden on the PlayStation.
